5 Minute Wake Up Work Out

If you’ve ever worked a night shift, you’ll realize there comes a point almost every night where your body just wants to go to sleep. Or eat high-sugar/fat-content foods. Or eat bad stuff and then go to sleep. I recently discovered this 5 minute work out that will solve both problems.

Tone It Up is doing a Love Your Body series leading up to Valentine’s day, and has released this video as a part of the challenge. The workout requires hand weights, only a small space and depending on how many reps you do, won’t make you gross and disheveled in that ‘I didn’t shower this week’ kind of way for when your cross-shift comes in. It will give you a quick wake up to all your major muscle groups (and your brain) and keep you away from that vending machine/freezer/candy stash.

*Actual work out starts at 1:00

I may or may not use this workout to stay awake and then justify eating more  icecream. Just saying. Also the curtsy lunge is my favorite, and you’ll definitely feel it the next afternoon when you wake up!
